The New Me

I have lived in San Francisco all my life, and i have totally taken this culturual and diverse city for granted. It was recently brought to my attention that I have actually attended a lot more events that go on in the city. My co-worker from San Jose is always telling me about music festivals, art shows, galleries and other events that are going on in the city, but I have never really been aware of all the festivities and entertainment the city has. Actually, almost all of my coworkers are from out of San Francisco and they always talk about how great it is in the city and how there's never a dull moment. They're right. Go on www.sfstation.com and it gives you a list of things you can do each day of the week. So far I've attended the Cherry Blossom Festival in Japantown, which they have every year but i've never really managed to go. I have also attended Oyster Fest at Fort Mason, where they have live bands oysters, beer and many other delicious goodies. Union Street Fair....basically ever since i've been out of my last relationship...i've explored a lot more and done a lot more. I guess the break-up allowed me to open myself and my eyes more to the world. I started dating again=]

In my younger years, my idea of fun and entertainment would to hang out with my friends, go to the movies, go to the mall or hang out at parks. And when I hit my late teens and early twenties, our idea of fun consumed of excessive partying and drinking! I am a little older now and I appreciate different things and have a different idea of fun.

I have always loved food, but now I have a greater appreciation for food and I am constantly striving to try foods of different cultures and food places that I've heard of either through the food channel or through word of mouth. Almost everytime I go eat now, I have my good friend (a camera) with me to capture the beauty of the food. I have a whole album on my desktop dedicated to all the scrump-licious [a word i've made up; combination of the word scrumptious and delicious] food. With my new found hobby of trying new foods and food places, wining and dining has become a new type of entertainment and fun for me. I think I might start a new blog solely dedicated to food!!

For those of you who love to eat, the San Francisco Dine About Town Menus look pretty good. For those who have not heard about Dine About Town...basically there's a list of participating restaurants [most of which are city's top pick places to eat] that offer lunch or dinner at a reduced price with a pre-fixed 3 course menu. I think this is totally worth it. If you're bringing a girl out on a date, its great! With a pre fixed menu the two of you can order different things and pick off of each other's food=]

Right now...I'm HAPPY=] a new year, a new relationship, a new found hobby, a new joy...and most importantly...A NEW ME!

Whitney Houston- Why Does it Hurt So Bad

Why does it hurt so bad
Why do I feel so sad
Thought I was over you
But I keep crying
When I don't love you
So why does it hurt so bad
I thought I had let you go
So why does it hurt me so
I gotta get you outta my head
It hurts so bad
Oh it hurts so bad baby

My life's been better
Since the day I left you boy
I must admit life's been kind to me
I went and did the things I said I would boy
I found someone who loves me for me
Haven't had much drama since the day that we split boy
My heart's never been more at ease
And when I think of all the things you put me through
Leaving you has been the best thing for me

[Chorus:]
So why does it hurt so bad
Why do I feel so sad
I thought I was over you
But I keep crying
When I don't love you
So why does it hurt so bad
Baby I thought I had let you go
So why does it hurt me so
I gotta get you outta my head
Hurts me so bad
Hurts so (yeah you do)
Hurts so (hurts me so)
Hurts so bad (did you know)
Hurts so (that it hurts me so)
Hurts so (so bad, hey hoh)

"Never again" that's what I said to myself
I never wanna feel kind of pain again boy
Just when I think it's over
Just when I think it's through
I find myself right back in love with you
